Eric Ball ，英國知名銅管音樂作曲家。1903 年 10 月 31 日出生於英國西南部的 Kingswood。青年時，由故鄉一位管風琴手啟蒙，開始學習鋼琴、管風琴、和聲學與對位法。同時在 Ealing 的青年救世軍銅管樂團學習短號與長號。

1942 年 9 月， Eric Ball 被任命為救世軍國際成員銅管樂團 ( International Staff Band ) 的指揮，這是銅管樂團指揮的至高榮譽。 1946 年離開救世軍後，便積極投入編曲與作曲的工作中。他大部分作品由英國 R. Smith 出版公司出版。 Eric Ball 已於 1989 年去世，享年 86 歲。

Resurgam - I shall rise again ，這部根據舊約聖經箴言書第 3 章 1-3 節中提及耶穌復活的內容所創作的音詩，完成於 1950 年。曲首呈示了象徵信仰的動機，是一段優美的頌歌。之後音樂轉入象徵黑暗、懷疑與絕望的極度悲傷中。此處由短號獨奏呈示了令人動容的旋律。最後信仰動機再現，引導全曲朝向象徵復活的光輝高潮。最後音樂復歸曲首的寧靜，象徵靈魂獲得了最後的和平。 Eric Ball 曾自言這是他最佳的作品。

The Kingdom Triumphant 完成於 1962 年，全曲包含三個主要段落：審判的景象、紀念耶穌的首次降臨及耶穌二次降臨的景象。全曲莊嚴宏大，深具宗教意涵。
