Derick Kane ，英國知名上低音號演奏家。 1956 年出生於蘇格蘭 Hamilton 。八歲開始學習上低音號演奏，十歲即登台演奏協奏曲。 1976 年加入救世軍銅管樂團至世界各地演出，並於 1991 年獲頒英國年度最佳上低音演奏家獎。目前於英國 Crown Wood School 擔任教職。
這張於 1999 年推出的首張個人專輯，除了 The Swan 、 A Song of Faith、 Annie Laurie 等傳統上低音號獨奏曲目外，另收錄 The Better World 、 Timepiece 、 Harbour Light 等特別為他創作的作品。
特別推薦英國作曲家 Ray Steadman Allen 根據暢銷踢踏舞劇 Lord of the Dance 配樂為主題，為上低音號所創作的變奏曲： Lyric Variations 。 |

日本上低音號演奏家牛上隆司 ( Ryuji Ushigami ) 1966 年出生於橫濱，高中畢業後進入日本大學音樂院學習上低音號演奏，師事三浦徹 ( Toru Miura ) 、 Brian Bowman 及 Steven Mead 。在校期間，曾多次獲得 Yomiuri Debut Concert 、 Yamaha Debut Concert 、 Nerima Debut Concert 等國內器樂比賽大獎。
目前任教於日本平成大學 ( Heisei College ) 音樂系，並擔任 M-Gauge Music School 院長一職。 |
