Philip Sparke ，英國作曲家。 1951 年出生於倫敦，自幼學習鋼琴及小號演奏。高中畢業後，進入英國皇家音樂學院學習作曲、鋼琴及小號演奏，期間分別完成生平第一部銅管樂團及管樂團作品「 Concert Prelude 」及「 Gaudium 」。畢業後，受紐西蘭銅管樂團大賽主辦單位委託創作「 The Land of the Long White Cloud 」，自此揚名樂壇，委託創作邀約不斷。

這張於 2006 年發行的 「 Simply More Sparke 」，延續前一張專輯「 Simply Sparke 」，收錄 Philip Sparke 為初級樂團創作的系列作品。作曲者透過生動的配器，在有限的素材中，增加作品的鮮活性，為初級作品中所罕見，是初級樂團選購樂譜重要的參考錄音。
