約翰威廉斯 ( John Williams ) ，美國知名電影配樂作曲家。

1932 年出生於紐約長島， 1948 年隨家人遷居洛杉磯並就讀於 UCLA 。早年曾跟隨 Mario Casteinuovo Tedesco 學習作曲。空軍役畢後，返回紐約進入 Juilliard School 深造，跟隨 Rosina Lhevinne 學習鋼琴，並於求學期間加入爵士樂團擔任鋼琴演奏。之後，約翰威廉斯重返洛杉磯，並且為當時多位著名電影配樂家 Alfred Newman 、 Elmer Bernstein 、 Henry Mancini 、 Jerry Goldsmith 等人，擔任鋼琴演奏的工作，也因此漸漸走入電影音樂領域。

這張由美國華納兄弟公司於 2004 年 1 月份出版的作品集，除了收錄約翰威廉斯為「星際大戰」、「 E. T. 」等科幻冒險電影創作大氣勢、大場面的音樂外，另收錄「七月四日誕生」等具深沈色彩的作品，是喜愛其創作的樂迷朋友不能錯過的專輯。
